Fall is the season where we think of colder days, leaves turning colors, & of course pumpkins! Not just for decoration, but also to eat. The “pumpkin spice” craze is upon us with a lot of manufacturers and retailers bombarding us with the “special twist” on their products. Often touted as “limited edition” or “special edition”, it’s just a gimmick to cash in on the season. I wanted to share 6 products that are out now in today’s post:
Country Crock Pumpkin Spice
Country Crock “spices up” their regular spread during the fall season with their pumpkin spice variety. Beautiful and smooth-tasting on toast or English muffins, the flavor isn’t too intense (which is the way I like it).
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Most gas stations and convenience stores have this in their stable of cappuccino & latte machine flavors. My local gas station has been advertising the arrival of their “Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino” for a month now. Depends on the store, some have a hint of pumpkin spice while others knock you down with the pungent aroma and deep spicy flavor. I’ve had some where I would have to add vanilla creamer just to counteract the strong, strong pumpkin spice flavor.
“Limited Edition” Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream
Just about every ice cream manufacturer has their own spin on this seasonal delight. For some, it’s a straight orange color ice cream with pumpkin spice mixed in. For others it includes chunks of pumpkin pie (crust included) to get that flavor. For still others it’s a creamy, cheesecake flavor with hints of pumpkin spice.
Pumpkin Pie (or Spice) Air Fresheners
From room deodorizers, candles, “smelly jelly”, to even air fresheners for your car, you can have the smell of fresh-baked pumpkin pie just about anywhere. The cheaper versions don’t tend to linger or be as strong-smelling as some of the higher-end products. We always get one for the living room, a nice “hint” of the season.
Pumpkin Spice Pudding
Haven’t tried it, don’t care to. I mean if you’re gonna want the taste of pumpkin, eat a piece of pumpkin pie for goodness sake! Forget the calories, forget the carbs, enjoy a small sliver of pie instead of the facsimile!
Pumpkin Spice Gum
Three dreaded words. This does exist, I just haven’t found a retailer yet that carries it (I haven’t been looking that hard, though). All I have to ask is, “Why????”
