What an A*s
What an ass. Jonah Hill hands out pre-printed business cards in lieu of autographs or photos. This is along the same lines as what Steve Martin had done in the late-70’s early-80’s when he realized that people are looking for a 30-second connection besides the autograph. At least Steve Martin signed his cards…

Sunday Cinema – “Justice for All”
This month on “Sunday Cinema”, we wanted to focus on unaired pilot episodes of television programs that either took off and became beloved by audiences or fell flat and never saw more than a few months on-air.
From the first piano notes, most baby boomers & gen-xers will know this show by it’s more familiar name, “All in the Family”. This show written by Norman Lear actually had 2 different unaired pilots created for it by ABC before finally finding a home on CBS. This is the first pilot that was shot in 1968 starring Carroll O’Connor & Jean Stapleton as Archie & Edith Justice. The roles of their daughter Gloria & husband Richard (later changed to Michael) were changed twice, once in each pilot.
Someone posted the original 1968 unaired pilot, as well as the 1969 unaired pilot (called “Those were the Days”) so we can see how the show had changed before airing in 1971.
Sunday Cinema – “The Munsters”
This month on “Sunday Cinema”, we wanted to focus on unaired pilot episodes of television programs that either took off and became beloved by audiences or fell flat and never saw more than a few months on-air.
This is kind of an oddball unaired pilot. I say oddball because several of the actors were replaced before the series aired, it is only 14 minutes (most shows are 22 minutes to allow for commercial breaks to make it a full 30 minute show), and it is in color (once the show was aired on television, it was broadcast in black & white). The soundtrack was changed to a more modern “rocking” theme than the spookier theme seen here.
Someone out there wanted this unaired episode saved for generations to come and posted it online…
Sunday Cinema – “Hillbillies”
This month on “Sunday Cinema”, we wanted to focus on unaired pilot episodes of television programs that either took off and became beloved by audiences or fell flat and never saw more than a few months on-air.
This week we offer the unaired pilot episode for “The Hillbillies of Beverly Hills”, which was later changed to the more familiar “The Beverly Hillbillies”. It looks as though the cast remained the same, sometimes cast changed are made after a pilot episode.
Someone was kind enough to save this episode for future generations to enjoy!
Book Learnin’ & Last Year
“Cruising Attitude: Tales of Crashpads, Crew Drama, and Crazy Passengers at 35,000 Feet” by Heather Poole is the book MattyV had to slog through. Dan the Man says that “Game Changer” by Kirk Cousins is a pretty good read so far. Challenge yourself to read some books and increase your knowledge!
Predictions, predictions. MattyV predicted the Clemson Tigers would win against Alabama’s Crimson Tide, and he was right! Soon he will reveal his Superbowl predictions!
Don Lemon is the gentleman that thought was happened in Chicago was due to “bad home training”…
“One Day At A Time” is a must-watch recommendation from MattyV. Probably the best “reboot/revival” series out of the last 5 or so tries (“Fuller House” was an interesting try).
MattyV would love to see “Firefly” come back on the air if even as a reboot or continuation. Dan the Man brought up “Voyagers“, a classic in its own right!
Kim Cattrall was the queen it seems of cheesy ’80s comedies like “Porky’s” & “Police Academy“.
Van Halen with Diamond Dave & the Monsters of Rock festival is what MattyV wanted to ressurrect, Dan would like to see Suicidal Tendencies or “Uncle” Ted Nugent.
Dan the Man read an article on why you forget why you walked into a room…
“Alien:Prometheus” was not billed as a prequel, but yet “Alien:Covenant” is…
Marvel Unlimited is a comic reader’s wet dream & cheap to boot!

Sunday Cinema – “Back to Norm”
This month on “Sunday Cinema”, we wanted to focus on unaired pilot episodes of television programs that either took off and became beloved by audiences or fell flat and never saw more than one episode.
Thanks to “Chappelle’s Show”, the skit/stand-up formula for comedy programs was a hot commodity back in the mid-2000s. Norm MacDonald jumped into the arena with “Back to Norm” which lasted all of one episode. With the likes Rob Schneider, Max Wright, & Jenny McCarthy on deck as supporting cast, the controversial skits were apparently a bit too much for television.
Someone posted the unaired pilot so that others can watch the trainwreck…
New Year, New You
Dan’s enjoying his Marvel Unlimited subscription, access to 17,000+ comics in digital form from the early days to 6 months ago.
MattyV got himself a subscription as well, a 12 month premium subscription to Night Flight Plus. Night Flight was a 4-5 hour overnight program that aired on the USA network back in the 1980’s. This is the show that showcased music videos that MTV wouldn’t air, short films, documentaries, & really cheesy movies. The library is ever-expanding, so Matty has a lot of content to check out!
MattyV also got an Amazon Echo Dot for Christmas, here’s a running list on Reddit of the “easter eggs” available. Just say one of these phrases to Alexa and see what happens!
Around 20min in, beware of “The Walking Dead” spoilers!
Here’s the roster of those celebrities that passed on in 2016, missing was William Christopher who played Father Mulcahy on “M*A*S*H”. Allegedly he is the last celebrity to die in 2016. The guys have their own list for 2017, who would be on your list?
Here’s that fake Denis Leary MasterCard ad from 2004, he shows up at the very end… Funny…
Lena Dunham recently said that she has never had an abortion, but wishes she had. Earlier in 2016 she revealed that she molested her younger sister.
Be careful when you see comedians live, oftentimes they aren’t g-rated like they are on television. Just listen to this NSFW clip from Eddie Murphy…
Check out this clip from “Hamburger the Movie” that kind of explains what’s happening these days when it comes to “Affirmative Action”… (the entire movie is NSFW because of the gratuitous breasts, butts, & crude humor!)

Want to find a new job or start a business? MattyV recommends checking out Dan Miller’s website. He has a lot of free content and his books are very good reads…
Maybe you have monetary goals, the boys recommend checking out Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman, & Clark Howard.
