Sunday Cinema – “King of Atlantis”
Since this is “Ape”ril, we thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser-known movies featuring primates… Enjoy!
Yes, there is an animated musical revolving around the big ape. Produced in 2005 and distributed as a DVD release to coincide with the animated series, “Kong: The Animated Series”. This has been a practice to cash in on franchises with additional movies/episodes that weren’t released/shown elsewhere.
An odd premise, indeed. Hard to put into words. You just have to watch it…
omeone posted this modern gem for all to enjoy…
Love Me Some ORB
MattyV was a part of the MST3K Revival League that brought the show back. The current season is available for streaming on Netflix. You’re welcome!
Adam Sandler has had several made-for-streaming movies and has extended his movie deal with Netflix for 4 more movies…
MattyV still maintains that this was a promotional gimmick.
Not only did Jennette McCurdy have some racy photos, apparently Victoria Justice does as well. Search for your own photos, pervert!
Does it matter? Really? If you love his music, who gives a shit?
Dan the Man gets teary-eyed listening to this Air Supply song…
Ticket prices are getting out of control. Here’s an article that surmises that it’s the artists themselves who are demanding higher prices since they derive the bulk of their income from touring.
“Fake news” & “click-baiting” articles are exploding nowadays since the majority of people get their news from the internet and social media. This college is using the phenomenon into a teachable moment…
Pepsi yanked their latest commercial due to social media backlash. This isn’t the first time that this had happened to them, they yanked the Madonna commercial over her music video controversy…
Hate to use the phrase, “Affirmative Action” when reading this article – but the question should be asked. It’s great that her education & accomplishments were recognized by these schools, don’t get me wrong. BUT if this person was a white male, would it be newsworthy? Or a white female for that matter? Just playing devil’s advocate…
It was sad to see Joanie Laurer so far gone in “1 Night in China“, you could tell that she was on drugs and not a truly willing participant. Now Paris Hilton, on the other hand, knew what she was doing…
“X-Factor” would be a great series to see on the big screen. Unfortunately since Fox owns the “X-Men” franchise & the name “mutant”, it most-likely won’t come to fruition. Lobo desperately needs to make it to the big screen or streaming on the small screen…

Sunday Cinema – “The Monkey King”
Since this is “Ape”ril, we thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser-known movies featuring primates… Enjoy!
Produced back in 2014, the Chinese-made action film stars Chow Yun-fat in a battle between angels & demons and a monkey born of a crystal that could be the key to ending it forever.
It did spawn a few sequels, as well as has been given the 3D treatment in theaters.
Someone posted this gem with English subtitles for all to enjoy!
And That Ship Has Sailed…
Amazon’s new venture is brick-and-mortar stores where your cellphone registers as you enter and you pick up your groceries and walk right back out. The store charges your Amazon account as you leave…
Unbelievable that the “Cash Me Outside” girl gets money for appearances & now has a reality show in the works…
A Vice reporter wore some JNCO jeans that he coveted as a teen (huge-legged jeans from the 1990’s, think bell-bottoms only the entire pant leg is huge as well). It didn’t go well…
Some Sci-Fi fan created an entry on an auto parts website for the Flux Capacitor. Of course it’s not available for sale….
“A Woman’s Guide to Woodworking” is meant to be a farce, but is it?
Right up there with the “oddly satisfying” videos on YouTube, the Hydraulic Press Channel is one of MattyV’s favorites to watch. Here’s a promo they did for “Logan“…
Rest easy, the $700 popcorn ball has been returned unharmed & uneaten…
Don’t pull on Superman’s cape, don’t spit into the wind, don’t pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger, and you certainly don’t smash a man’s Star Wars collection…
Coolest thing ever – a 1960’s era fallout shelter that is completely untouched and apparently still functional…
“Dude, where’s my stash?” “Um, Goodwill?”
Why, oh why can’t this country remove their blinders and look at cannabis as an alternative…
Ever play “Spin the Bottle”? How about “Hide the Steak Sauce Bottle in the Library“?
Thanks to the storms in California over the past few months, it is now 83% drought-free as compared to 6% last year…

Sunday Cinema – “Lancelot Link”
Since this is “Ape”ril, we thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser-known movies featuring primates… Enjoy!
Yes, the 1970’s were an interesting time indeed. Not only were there blatant rip-off monkey movies running rampant on the silver screen, there was also a television show about a secret agent whom also happened to be a chimp. By day, Lancelot Link is a member of the rock group “Evolution Revolution” and by night he is a secret agent for APE (Agency to Prevent Evil). Yes, this was a real show that lasted a whole 17 episodes.
Lancelot and his cohorts are called to rescue a scientist & APE agent who was searching to find CHUMP’s (Criminal Headquarters for the Underworld’s Master Plan) horde of stolen gold. CHUMP has photos of all of APE’s agents, can Lancelot & Mata Hairi save the day?
Someone posted this episode online, don’t do drugs…
Bad Pizza’s Still Good
MattyV mentioned a College Humor video about a girlfriend (played by “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star Ellie Kemper) and her ideas about giving a BJ.
MattyV is a Chicago-style pizza fan (but will eat anything put in front of him), Dan the Man is more of a cracker-thin crust kind of guy. What type of pizza are you into? Let us know on our social media pages!
MattyV is in need of a new series to start watching. Dan the Man suggests “Game of Thrones“, are there any series out there that you enjoy? Let us know!
Sad note, Don Rickles had passed away at the age of 90. Dan the Man watched many YouTube clips of “Mr. Warmth”. MattyV watched the “Dirty Work” clip…
Dan the Man likes some of the changes to baseball rules…
The only place MattyV MIGHT wait more than 30min for a table is a local Mexican restaurant. Dan the Man MIGHT wait at a Kalamazoo joint for breakfast.
Jim Varney will be missed…
“The Walking Dead”‘s season finale was kind of a letdown compared to other seasons…
The Michigan State Police have been cracking down on drivers who fail to abide by the “Keep Right Except to Pass” signage on the highways.
Dan the Man still recommends Marvel Unlimited despite the “holes” in certain comic series…
Dan the Man would, but MattyV wouldn’t stay in bed for 2 months (since he did that a few years ago)…
“Squirrel Girl” isn’t getting the big screen treatment, but rather an ensemble cartoon – “The New Warriors“…
Sug Knight says that he was the target the night Tupac “died”. Chappelle’s Show had a funny skit about Tupac’s music.
Dan the Man waxes poetic a little about cryptozoology…
People are pissed that manatees (or sea cows) have been taken off the endangered species list. Some other dumbasses killed a rhino for its horn – while in a zoo!
Yes, the “grandma catches monkey poo” happened not more than 45min from where MattyV & Dan the Man live.
Dan the Man’s love for George Carlin runs deep. Here is a clip of Richard Pryor before he really took off.

Sunday Cinema – “Queen Kong”
Since this is “Ape”ril, we thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser-known movies featuring primates… Enjoy!
A female film crew travels to the jungles where a giant female ape falls in love with the male star. We can’t make this up. Yet another film hurriedly put out to grab onto the “King Kong” revival wave, some reviews call it a crime against cinema. Apparently Paramount Pictures attempted to sue the production company in order to block distribution (and won), it survives today…
Someone went wild and posted this gem online for all to see how farcical it is…
Have a Healthy Day
MattyV went to McDonald’s to grab lunch and noticed the register keypad operated like the one in “Idiocracy“, only with food & beverage photos. As Dan mentions, the company is moving towards the self-ordering kiosk to basically eliminate cashiers. What better way to beta-test the system a kiosk will run on than to use their own employees…
What was once supposed to be a parody, is now becoming a documentary and a prediction of the future…
If you have a still-operating old movie house near you, give them some love. MattyV visited The Regent Theater and had a blast. Date night cost less than $25 for tickets/pop/popcorn/candy. And they show first-run movies…
It would be nice to have more live streaming events at movie theaters, concerts that are either sold out or too far away. Fathom Events does some events like this, if they could do more concerts it would be incredible.
The infamous Tyson v Mcneely fight that lasted less than 2 minutes, at a cost of $49.99 for pay-per-view…
Joe Mixon is basically black-listed from the NFL draft due to one faulted mistake. Much like Ray Rice, who never played in the NFL again. Yet Michael Vick & Greg Hardy get a second chance.
“Life in Pieces” is a hilarious comedy on CBS with Colin Hanks, Dianne Wiest, & James Brolin. Dan the Man recommends “The Good Guys“, another series with Colin Hanks.
A mystery was solved recently in the world of “Pulp Fiction”. Someone posited that Butch was the vandal that scratched Vincent Vega’s car in the movie once he exited the bar.
“Adam Ruins Everything” was originally a continuing bit on CollegeHumor.com that eventually got a “cleaned up” revamp on TruTV.
Sunday Cinema – “A*P*E”
Since this is “Ape”ril, we thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser-known movies featuring primates… Enjoy!
“A*P*E” was essentially a hastily-made South Korean film meant to ride on the coattails of Dino De Laurentiis’ remake of “King Kong”. The tagline surely clues you in – “Not to be confused with King Kong”. This practice is still done today with smaller studios cranking out lesser films similar in plot to mainstream theater fodder, but for the “instant streaming” & bargain-bin DVD markets instead of competing head-on in the theaters.
The main primate of the film is being transported from Harlem (?) to Disneyland by boat and escapes. The man in the obvious monkey suit marvels at hang gliders, fighting an obviously already-dead shark, & even flipping the bird. It was released in 3D, one of the best effects involve a snake being thrown directly at the camera. Look for the director in a minor role as “Dino” – an obvious dig at “King Kong”‘s director.
Someone was kind enough to post this massive farce online for all to marvel at…
