Dharma & Thor

Dharma & Thor

Didn’t think you would get an “end times” religious lesson right off the bat, did you?

Casey Affleck is now being accused of sexual misconduct, Time has the deets on why Hollywood doesn’t want him presenting an Oscar…

Going heavy on the Nerdist “spoiler” videos, make sure you watch “Thor:Ragnarok” first…

Here are some of the Easter Eggs you might have missed in the movie…

Speculation on how “Thor:Ragnarok” sets up “The Avengers: Infinity War“…

If Thor’s hammer did shatter, the whole world would be in danger (literally)…

Now tell me that Korg doesn’t sound like Kev the Kiwi from “Housos” (it’s not, but sounds a whole heck of alot like him!)…

The Punisher” is coming to Netflix on November 17th, and Jon Bernthal will do great things. If Thomas Jane as Frank Castle revs your engine, check out the fan film “Dirty Laundry“…

And if you need more of ‘The Punisher”, check out books he was based on – Mack Bolan: The Executioner

The comments on this YouTube entry says alot about what Fox has done to the “Fantastic Four” brand

Deadpool 2” looks to be going in the right direction as far as comic book fandom is concerned. People are speculating that Hollywood is hitting “peak Marvel”…

Sunday Cinema – “A Day of Thanksgiving”

ThanksDay

November is the month for Veterans, Thanksgiving, & shopping (enough with the “Christmas creep”!). All this month on Sunday Cinema we will be looking at odd movies that either take place during Thanksgiving or the holiday is the focus.

This short film follows a family as they learn more about Thanksgiving than just turkeys & pumpkin pie. Too often today we neglect the real meaning of the holiday, a time to fellowship with family & friends and being thankful for the many blessings we have received.

Someone  posted this online as well as other short films from the 40’s/50’s/60’s…

Dopin’ Dogs

Dopin’ Dogs

Lots of “Stranger Things 2” talk, so fast forward about 20 minutes if you haven’t binge-watched it. Nerdist has some great “easter eggs” from the season, as well as thoughts on what to expect in “Stranger Things 3“…

From the first Russian Gold Medalist to get his medal revoked because of doping, now a musher from the famous Iditarod dog sled race has been accused of doping his sled team with Tramadol.

Even though the government still classifies cannabis as a drug in the same class as cocaine & heroin, the FDA wants to crack down on false health claims from marijuana products. Sure it doesn’t cure cancer itself, but there are MANY testimonies that it helps with chemo sickness, epilepsy, & PTSD…

Male? Female? Nonbinary? This is the new gender available on California birth certificates. Only in California would you find parents not wanting to push a “gender” onto their newborn child…

A classic “F-U” when quitting, a former Twitter employee deactivated Trump’s Twitter account before leaving. Unfortunately it was in the evening, everyone knows Trump’s an early-morning Tweeter…

TheRichest has a list of some pretty epic employee “F-U” stories, the one about the employee that quit and ended up becoming her old boss’ boss is hilarious…

Is there really any sensible rationale for being a d*ck? Apparently some of these stories try explain why (but very poorly)…

Sunday Cinema – “Thankskilling 3”

thankskilling

November is the month for Veterans, Thanksgiving, & shopping (enough with the “Christmas creep”!). All this month on Sunday Cinema we will be looking at odd movies that either take place during Thanksgiving or the holiday is the focus.

“Thankskilling” introduced us to “Turkie” the homocidal turkey hell-bent on killing “the white man”. ‘Thankskilling 3″ finds us watching the crazy turkey hunt down the very last copy of “Thankskilling 2” being held by a bunch of puppets, a weird wig-wearing inventor, & some really strange sh*t. Budgeted by a Kickstarter campaign, it took 50 days to complete filming whereas the original took less than 2 weeks.

Someone in a Spanish-speaking country posted this online in English with subtitles…

Rocky Horror (Among Other Things)

Rocky Horror (Among Other Things)

The boys went to see “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” experience at The Park Theater on the Friday before Halloween. I was a “virgin” to the experience of participation in a theater, DEFINITELY DO NOT let anyone around you know. There are reports of theater-goers pulling “virgins” up front and spank them or write a V on their forehead and force them to sing a jingle.

If you choose to go, this blog post will help you understand what you need to make your experience the best it can be…

The “official” Rocky Horror fansite has all sorts of information about the movie, what to bring, even a script of what to say in response to movie dialogue. There were several audible participants (Dan the Man being one) and each had a little bit different script of lines for the movie. It actually made the movie more enjoyable…

There are several don’ts when it comes to living in a horror movie, one of which isn’t “Let’s split up“…

Granted, sexual harrassment & coerced sex isn’t something anyone should tolerate but getting your butt patted by an elderly former president? We agreed it was probably old man/dementia and he & his people have apologized. Now ol’ Billy Clinton has done worse and has been forgiven…

Sunday Cinema – “Home Sweet Home”

HSH

November is the month for Veterans, Thanksgiving, & shopping (enough with the “Christmas creep”!). All this month on Sunday Cinema we will be looking at odd movies that either take place during Thanksgiving or the holiday is the focus.

Back in 1981, with the success of movies centered around specific days (“Halloween”, “Friday the 13th”, “New Year’s Evil”) someone decided to make a Thanksgiving horror movie and called it “Home Sweet Home”.

An escaped mental patient who shoots PCP into his tongue(!), hijacks a station wagon & travels to a remote residence where the Bradley family is getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. Not over-the-top with gore or nudity (apparently the director missed MANY opportunities to do so), it’s a rather reserved slasher film. Stars such as Jake Steinfeld (“Body by Jake”) & Vinessa Shaw (“Hocus Pocus”, “Eyes Wide Shut”), it’s an odd and dated thriller for sure…
