Action Park!

Action Park!

With J in tow, the boys head to the theater to see “Action Point” which is an adult comedy loosely-based on what was A REAL AMUSEMENT PARK IN NEW JERSEY!

The YouTube Channel, “Defunctland”, posted a documentary on the history & fate of Action Park.

This documentary is interesting as it contains interviews with people that actually went to the park (such as Chris Gethard from “The Chris Gethard Show”). You’ll learn why it has been called “Accident Park” or “Traction Park”…

Someone posted ACTUAL FOOTAGE FROM 1987 of the park in service…

Here’s a television commercial from 1983 for Action Park…

Alice in Chains went to Action Park as a part of “Headbanger’s Ball“…

The original park closed in 1996 and was re-opened in 1998 as Mountain Creek Water Park. In 2010, the name was changed back to Action Park by the family of the original owner but when the park changed hands again, the Mountain Creek Water Park moniker was used and is still used to this day. Unfortunately, much of the thrill is gone since safety measures have been implemented eliminating the adrenaline rush of possible injury/death…
