A Comic Con Poll

Finally figures out how to set up a poll on the new WordPress platform. Sorry there’s no pod this week, the boys are getting over their turkey-induced comas from the holiday. We will be releasing part 2 of our comic con adventure, before we do we want you to vote – which cosplay did we see more of, Deadpool (and his various forms) or Harley Quinn?

Vote now and check back next week to see if you were right!

REMEMBER – once we get to 50 non-scamming twitter followers there will be a drawing for a mystery box of cool stuff! So follow us and get your friends to do the same! Win free stuff!

Sunday Cinema – “What is This – Thanksgiving or a Nightmare?”

Jerry

All this month we are featuring some more “Thanksgiving” -themed episodes from a few more “obscure” television shows over the past few decades.

In this episode of the obscure series, “Accidental Family”, Jerry (Jerry Van Dyke ) invites some of his Las Vegas comedian friends over for Thanksgiving while the governess of his child was hoping for a quiet time with her parents…

A Thanksgiving to Remember

Junk Thanks

In lieu of a new podcast, we decided to share a memory from our humble beginnings. Back in 2015 a couple of schmoes decided to try something new. They’d always had conversations and outright arguments, laughing and joking around. They shared opinions and trivia, some laughable and some cringe-worthy. Thus, Junkiosity – The Pod was born!

The pod’s first Thanksgiving found them recreating the dinner prepared by Snoopy & Woodstock in the perennial classic, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and commenting on the show (which at the time was available on YouTube for free). From the simple 2-channel amp to our more sophisticated setup today, the pod’s mantra has remained the same – “2 Schmoes sharing their vast knowledge of absolutely nothing”.

We hope you enjoy this flashback commentary from our first Thanksgiving and hope that you and yours have a safe & wonderful holiday!

2018 Comic Con! pt 1

2018 Comic Con! pt 1

This week is part one of our adventure to the 2018 Grand Rapids Comic Con. There will be a poll before part two, so keep listening and vote when it’s available!

MattyV had the pleasure to meet Stephen and Charlie Chiodo, the brothers who brought the world “Killer Klowns from Outer Space”, “Critters”, & more recently “Team America: World Police”.

He also got to meet (and hug!) the lovely Anastasia Baranova, the actress that plays “Addy Carver” on the television series “Z Nation”. She is a super-sweet gal that we could tell genuine loves her fans and understands their importance.

There were other “big name” stars despite what Matty said. John Ratzenberger (“Cliff” from “Cheers” & the voice of many Pixar movie characters), Adrian Paul (of television’s “The Highlander”), the “Mads” from MST3K (Trace Beaulieu & Frank Coniff), Jake Busey (“Starship Troopers”, “The Frighteners”, “Home Fries”), & Walter Koenig (Pavel Chekov from the original “Star Trek” series. (Walter’s line was non-existent while YouTubers Odd1sOut had a line that almost went from one side of the convention hall to the other!)

Jake Busey had a Q&A, talked about his career & shared some tidbits from the new “Predator” movie (where he plays the son of his father’s character from the original movie). He also shared how tight-lipped he has to be about the 3rd season of “Stranger Things” and what the kids were like. All he could mention was that his character is a journalist with questionable morals & a sick sense of humor…

We certainly agree that Psychostick needs to do the song, “Danger Zone” on the new Top Gun movie!

Dez Bryant might be screwed

Rob Scallon has been talked about before on the podcast. His ukulele covers are hilarious (and amazing!), working with 100+ year old recording equipment, & playing Metallica’s “One” on a single 8-string guitar

Little Big is a hilarious band, “Skibidi” has gone viral. “Faradenza” is also a good one. Check them out!

Originally Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was set to play the rogue character “Lobo”, but now he’s playing Black Adam in “Shazam” so they will be looking for someone else.  This is going in/out of development, with the success of “Deadpool” – “Lobo” could be DC’s answer to the “Merc with a Mouth”…

A Dutchman is wanting the right to change his age from 69 to 49 because he feels it will benefit him on dating websites such as “Tinder”…

Well that’s sh*tty, divers in Charleston, SC had to dive down almost 100ft to unclog a massive pile of “flushable” diaper wipes that caused several towns’ sewers to back up…

The PSLF program, one where college students can receive loan forgiveness if they work in the public service industry (doctor/nurse/firefighter/military) for 10 years and make 120 on-time payments. Thing is, 99% of those who apply are denied

The owners of “A Christmas Story” house have had similar issues but have worked with the city to make sure that none of the locals are inconvenienced badly. Some have taken to selling spots in their homes/driveways to tourists. Astoria & the neighborhood surrounding the “Goonies” home need to embrace this 1980’s movie icon and exploit it for cash…

There’s pranks and then there’s a*sholish-ness when it comes to high school students. What was the pay-off of passing out human ashes baked into sugar cookies?
