Sunday Cinema – “I Drink Your Blood”

“I Drink Your Blood” is loosely based on a true story in Iran where a group of rabid wolves attacked some townspeople & is also loosely based on the exploits of Charles Manson. A group of cultic hippies overrun a small town after eating meat pies spike with rabies-infected dog blood (!). Nudity, rape, gratuitous violence ensue. A true “grindhouse” flick as it was often paired with the movie, “I Eat Your Skin”.

A Nightmare Indeed
With the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic dominating the world & causing billions of people to stay indoors, it has been a wild ride. People have been taking to social media & streaming services to while away the time. This can have some consequences as this pod can attest to. Listen in as MattyV recounts a nightmare he woke up from just an hour or so before recording. Here are the dumbasses that contributed to it:
Lance 210 – One of the new “creators” that have taken YouTube & TikTok by storm, he gets his jollies (and views) by tormenting his friends & family. Here are a few of his “pranks”….
Kristen Hanby – Also another “creator” that gets views from pranks on his family & also his “music” career…
Steffen Miro – A German “creator” that taunts his sibling by breaking their phones/earphones and presenting brand new Air Pods/Iphones to replace them…
And then there’s Carter Sharar & his “crew”, obviously a bunch of rich kids creating content to flaunt their wealth & getting kids to believe that they can be rich & do stupid stuff as well…
MattyV’s recommendation? Shut off social media, shut off streaming service and read a book or go outside. Do something constructive…
Sunday Cinema – “The Satan Bug”

In “The Satan Bug”, a terrorist steals a germ from a top secret government lab and threatens to unleash it. Named “The Satan Bug” because it could destroy all life on Earth if let loose.
With stars such as Ed Asner & Richard Bull (Nels Oleson from “Little House on the Prairie”), this mid-1960’s terror romp is creepy and entertaining.

Sunday Cinema – “The Cassandra Crossing”

In “The Cassandra Crossing”, a train is quarantined because a man onboard is infected with an unknown virus (of which governments are trying to keep secret). Trouble begins when the authorities realize the train is headed to a bridge crossing that hasn’t been used/maintained since WWII!
Starring movie icons such as Sofia Loren, Sir Richard Harris, & even O.J. Simpson(!), this is one of the many “disaster” movies that were big in the mid-1970’s.

Gameshow Heyday
This was recorded shortly before the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” mandate went into effect in many states around the country. A lot of the information we discuss has been expanded/debunked/reinforced since the recording. MattyV is working on a viable (read “FREE”) way to record podcasts over the internet/phone that brings some semblence of quality that doesn’t sound like we’re broadcasting from a tin can. Be safe, be healthy, & above all – stay home!
Games shows, television shows, & even movie productions are on hold due to the coronavirus…

Sunday Cinema – “Plague”

“Plague” is about a deadly bacteria that escapes a research lab and of a fugitive escaping quarantine effectively spreading it to every town she encounters. There’s a race against the clock to find a cure before life on Earth is extinguished for good.
This film has no real stars and came at the end of the “disaster” movie trend of the mid-1970’s.
