Stephen King is Our Friend

HBO Max has been pretty good with showing movies the same day they hit theaters, next up is “Tom & Jerry” on the 26th, which shocks us in today’s snowflake-butt hurt environment. For goodness sakes Disney+ put a disclaimer on all 5 seasons of the original “The Muppet Show” from the late 1970’s…
“Jodorowsky’s Dune” is a great documentary of the novel adaptation we could have had instead of this schlockfest…
Roger Ebert could be super-cold when it came to hating movies and it shows in his movie reviews…
MattyV was reminded of this scene from the classic, “Hollywood Shuffle”, where a couple of guys from the ‘hood review films Siskel & Ebert-style…
Dan the Man thought the movie, “Molly’s Game” was interesting and the acting incredible…
Yes we referenced “Al Capone’s Vault“, the epitome of a high-hype concept with no pay-off…
Then the boys went off into a rabbit hole about Stephen King. “Nightmares & Dreamscapes” was one of the more-recent adaptations of some of Stephen’s stories, including “Crouch End” and “Battleground” (which wasn’t a part of the story collection)…
“Survivor Type” gave MattyV the chills just talking about the story, it has been given the animated treatment over at Shudder...
Talking about story collections, “The Illustrated Man” by Ray Bradbury was adapted to the silver screen in 1969…
Sunday Cinema – “A Boy and His Dog”

Starring a young Don Johnson, this tale takes place after WWIV and the world is a wasteland of scavengers looking for food, water, & sex. Don’s character stumbles upon an underground city where the old pre-war society has been preserved. There is a problem, however, being underground so long the males have become infertile requiring above-ground males to help keep the city going.
Based on a book by science fiction writer Harlan Ellision, this is one cheesy post-apocalyptic movie that someone posted online for you to enjoy…
They’re Coming for You
A poem to consider from a German pastor who survived the Nazi concentration camps in Sachsenhausen & Dachau…
“Chappelle’s Show” is back on Netflix with the creator’s blessing (aka he got paid!)
Gina Carano’s tweet about the analogy of pre-Nazi Germany’s hatred of Jews & conservative voters today is pretty much spot on with people being fired just for being at rallies (not participating in the violence), Trump supporters being beaten & killed, being blacklisted for jobs. Yet Pedro Pascal can tweet analogies of conservatives being Nazis and that’s okay. Or the producer of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” can tweet about shoving Trump supporters children into a woodchipper, MAGA hats first…
The impeachment trial included falsified information including hearsay & a doctored “blue check” on a tweet from a Trump supporter…
Pearl Milling Company is now the brand name of the former Aunt Jemima pancake & syrup products.
This week begins the start of Mardi Gras with Fat Tuesday being the biggest draw for New Orleans. With Covid-19, they have had to get creative since there will be no parade again this year. Instead they are doing “Yardi Gras” with locals decorating their front yards as if they were floats in a parade…
Miley Cyrus’s pre-game show was actually half-decent…
Sunday Cinema – “Caryl of the Mountains”

A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer is called upon to solve the murder of a fur trapper and why his daughter has been embezzling money from the company she works for. Rin Tin Tin Jr. (but this has been questioned as to whether or not he came from the original’s bloodline) co-stars and helps the investigation along like a good dog!
One of many Rin Tin Tin movies, someone posted a semi-decent transfer online for you to check out…
Sunday Cinema – “The Painted Hills”

One of the first feature films following the canine star, Lassie, a prospector strikes gold and leaves his dog with his dead partner’s widow & son. Shady & nefarious things happen (including a poisoning!) but in the end Lassie saves the day! This is the 2nd Lassie movie to come out and eventually led to a popular television series.
This film somehow ended up in the public domain due to a non-renewal of its copyright. Someone posted a copy online for you to enjoy!
The Gamestop Rebellion

No, there’s nothing fishy about the appointment to the head of the criminal division of the DOJ being the former law partner who is the criminal defense attorney for Hunter Biden. Nothing fishy at all…
It’s being dubbed the “Gamestop Rebellion” or “Occupy Wall Street 2.0”, a group of Redditors decided to stick it to hedge funds that make money by betting on stocks to fail. So far the losses have exceed $70 billion & the elites are trying to stem the losses by changing the rules…
Forget naming a school or library after a historical figure, how about the lead singer of a hippie band that promoted LSD & drug use instead?
Talk about a ret-con, Zack Snyder’s cut of DC’s “Justice League” movie will be dropping onto HBOMax as a 4-part miniseries of sorts. The original released version was panned by critics & fans alike. This should be good…
The director of “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”, “Bruce Almighty”, & “Patch Adams” created a documentary speaking with intellectuals & spiritual leaders on what’s wrong with our world and how to fix it…
Tony Hawk recently completed his last 720 of his career earlier this month. At age 52…
Big Brother is getting closer. Spotify has filed a patent on technology that can listen to your voice and use it to suggest music for you based off that. So if you’re screaming at your ex, it may suggest Chuck Mangione or Burt Bacarach to calm you down…
