Sunday Cinema – “Disneyland Christmas Parade (1980)

This month on “Sunday Cinema” we decided to get into the nostalgia of the season and look at Christmas parades from decades past. Each year the parade balloons tend to change based on the popular cartoons of the year. Old favorites are always there and of course you have musical artists singing for the crowds.

Someone filmed this with their personal VCR camcorder (which probably weighed 50lbs) back in 1980. Of course, playing with the zoom and pan features, so be careful about getting seasick watching it! Someone uploaded this

Shields & Yarnell, the mime troupe, are “The Clinkers” apparently a couple of automatons traveling from California to Florida for a Christmas vacation at Walt Disney World. Filled with music, sights around the Magic Kingdom, & actors/actresses of the time period, this is an odd duck… Someone posted a copy online
