Sunday Cinema – “Welcome to Paradise”

Starring Shelley Long (“Cheers”), Mel Harris (“Thirtysomething”), and Ian Ziering (“Beverly Hills 90210” & the “Sharknado” franchise). Anne convinces her friends to escape their drab lives and head down to Paradise Beach for spring break like they did 20 years ago. Love, laughs, & a moral, this made-for-television movie is okay…

Under the Boardwalk

Under the Boardwalk

The movie “Summer Job” was a classic T&A comedy, something to put out on the new entertainment format – VHS. “Demented” looks like it’s a copy of another film in the same vein, “I Spit on Your Grave” (aka “Day of the Woman”). Sorry, man, this comment has been trashed…

If you are looking for non-lethal self defense, check out the Byrna HD. It shoots .68cal either projectiles or pepper balls. Looks like it is powerful enough to stop an assailant and give you time to get away…

State of Michigan allows for people to use period-correct plates for antique/classic autos. Unfortunately it sounds like the 1992 Buick Roadmaster that Dan the Man saw didn’t have one but rather was trying to skirt the law…

Sunday Cinema – “Last Resort”

Starring Charles Grodin, a young Megan Mullally, Jon Lovitz, & Phil Hartman, George Lollar is promised a relaxing vacation with fun in the sun at Club Sand. Unfortunately, they lied.

Coming out to compete against a similar plot within “Club Paradise” starring Robin Williams and many SCTV alums, it couldn’t come close. You can tell it was originally supposed to be a “family comedy” like “National Lampoon’s Vacation” but diverged into a lame sexual innuendo/offensive stereotype shitshow.

Sunday Cinema – “Spring Break Massacre”

Starring Reggie Bannister (of the “Phantasm” horror franchise) and a few scant minutes of Linnea Quigley (legendary B-movie scream queen), a group of 6 girls get together for a sleepover during spring break. A serial killer has escaped prison and is looking for some new blood. It’s up to the girls to stop the killer before he kills again.

Shot over 6 days on a single camera, it was supposed to be a homage to 80’s slasher horror films. It ends up to be a tit-filled shitshow…

Linnea Quigley IS the “scream queen” of the b-movie horror genre. From her nude dance in “Return of the Living Dead” to her own workout video (!?!), she has a TON of credits

“Last American Virgin” is a funny movie, but the ending is a pisser

Here’s our list of people we would like to sit down with a beer or cuppa tea:

Steve Yzerman – former captain of the Detriot Red Wings, he has returned to the team as General Manager in the hopes of bringing glory back to the Motor City

Bruce Campbell – Actor/author/filmmaker/Michigan native. Matty could listen to him read the back of a cereal box…

Stephen King – Author/filmmaker. Basically the godfather of modern horror novels, we are sure you have read or watched some of his stuff…

Malcolm Gladwell – Author. He’s written articles for the New Yorker as well as several books with “What the Dog Saw” being Matty’s favorite

Scott Ian – Muscian/author/spoken word artist. Member of several bands over the years, has several books to his name, most famous for his beard

George R Romero – Filmmaker/Author. Many of his movies are social commentaries of the times (“Night of the Living Dead” tackled racism, “Dawn of the Dead” tackled consumerism, etc.)…

Brie Larson – Actress. Most famous for her role as Captain Marvel, the “Cultural Woke” want her removed from the role and replace the character with a transgender

Bruce Dickinson – Musician/author/pilot/historian. He is truly a renaissance man for today’s times. He has a commercial pilot’s license and works for Astraeus Airlines when he’s not touring or writing new music.

Charles Barkley – Basketball Player/author/Sportscaster. Excellent baller back in the day, a great sportscaster. His recent comments on politics is spot on…

Donald J Trump – Politician/author/businessman. 45th president of the USA. Real estate & business mogul. Reality TV star. You may love him, you may hate him, but you have got to respect his drive to succeed…

Here’s the pic, very pretty woman despite her boob differences…:

Sunday Cinema – “The Beach Girls”

Starring Debra Blee (of “Hamburger: The Motion Picture” fame), Jeana Keough (one of the “Eliminator Girls” from various ZZ Top music videos), and Mary Jo Catlett (Pearl on “Diff’rent Strokes” and Mrs. Puff from the various “Spongebob Squarepants” television shows/movies). A group of girls head down to an uncle’s beach house for a vacation, when 2 of the girls find bales of marijuana dumped by “Captain Bly” they head back to the beach house to let the good times roll…

Keep on eye on the gardner as his antics are worth the watch…

Sunday Cinema – “Platoon Leader”

One of the films riding the “Platoon” wave of Vietnam-era war movies of the late-1980’s, “Platoon Leader” seems to hold its own rather than being a poor man’s version of Oliver Stone’s riveting film. Directed by Aaron Norris (Chuck Norris’ brother) and starring Michael Dudikoff (of the “American Ninja” series of films), “Platoon Leader” follows a naive West Point graduate as he takes his first command post in Vietnam. He is injured but later returns a hardened leader respected by both his men & his superiors.

Someone posted it online so you can see the action up front…

Sunday Cinema – “P.O.W. the Escape”

Taking liberties from films such as “Rambo part II” & “Missing in Action”, “P.O.W. the Escape” stars David Carradine (of “Kung Fu” & “Kill Bill” fame) as a soldier tasked with rescuing a group of American POWs secreted away at a camp deep within Vietnam that doesn’t “exist” shortly before the fall of Saigon. With reviews claiming it to be a vehicle written for Chuck Norris (and starring one of his sidekicks) & disbelief that it actually made it into theaters, a film you have to see because it is so bad & over the top…
