Bitter, much?

Bitter, much?

Pauly Shore is probably most well-known as “The Weasel” from his days on MTV which kick-started a short movie career in the early-to-mid-nineties. In recent years he has leased his mansion overlooking Hollywood & does stand-up comedy gigs in small towns across the country. A documentary from a few years ago shows a different Pauly than the lovable goof from the MTV days. The documentary focuses on a short tour he did in the Wisconsin/Minnesota area in small clubs (really small clubs) and only slight touches on issues with his mother’s failing health and the need to move her into a smaller home. Very little is shared as far as his stand-up routine, but as you can see it is very raunchy and sad. Unlike Jim Breuer’s “More Than Me“, where Jim breaks down what its like to care for an elderly parent as a traveling comedian.

Ron Jeremy, Chyna, & Vern Troyer among others had found a 2nd celebrity spotlight on the short-lived VH1 series, “The Surreal Life”

Gallagher had the world on a string in the late-70’s and early 80’s with his brand of physical/political/observational humor. Thanks to the early days of HBO and the advent of VHS, his reach across America was great. But as the comedy wave moved on to more vulgar comedians (Andrew “Dice” Clay, Denis Leary, etc.), his comedy became more bitter & sarcastic even to the point of alienating his audience as he calls out hecklers and people not paying attention to his show.

When getting a tattoo, keep in mind the consequences

Cracked has an article from a few years ago that shared 6 musicians who created albums just to say “F*ck You”. We knew of 2 out of the list…

MattyV found this comedy video meant to mock what has transpired so far in the White House since last fall as if it were happening in a corporation…

The Girl Scouts are pissed that the Boy Scouts are attempting to recruit girls into their organization. And yet the Boy Scouts were at the center of a fight where 6 girls in California wanted to join a local BSA troop. Is it the BSA’s fault???

Someone created a map which shows the most-hated food in each state. Michigan hates cold pizza while Texas hates well-cooked steaks.

How did the “Totality Eclipse” affect the internet? Xhamster reported a 40% drop in traffic during the hours of the eclipse…

What do you do for firefighters that saved your piglets from a barn fire 6 months prior? Hand them sausages made from said pigs

A school in Berlin was sick of prostitutes soliciting/doing drugs/sh*tting(!) on their campus that they had to erect an “anti-prostitute” fence to keep them out…

Sunday Cinema – “The Bicycle Man”

Diffrent

All this month we are looking at “very special episodes” from 1970’s & 1980’s television shows. The tagline was meant to inform the viewer that the particular episode was going to talk about a real-life problem in the context of the show. These are some of the more familiar episodes that us Gen-Xers remember.

The most famous episode has to be today’s from the show, “Diff’rent Strokes”, which dealt with pedophiles. Gordon Jump (from “WKRP in Cincinnati” fame) plays the part of a bicycle shop owner that is into diddling little boys. There was even a disclaimer warning presented before the episode explaining the issues being brought to light.

Someone posted the 2-part episode with the disclaimer online for all of us to watch again…

Missing: Common Sense (uncut)

Missing: Common Sense (uncut)

Things have gone crazy at the monkey factory recently, so here is a completely uncut/unrefined podcast (as if this podcast was ever “refined”…) with all the coughs, mic wobbles, & f*ck-ups…

From watching shows like “Live:PD” & “Parking Wars” on A&E, it seems like common sense has gone out the window. An episode showing a gentleman getting a ticket for parking in front of a fire hydrant, complains that there was no sign telling him he couldn’t park in front of a fire hydrant. Isn’t that still taught in drivers training & on the license renewal tests? Or episodes of “Live:PD” where there are police in pursuit, NO OTHER VEHICLES STOP OR PULL OVER. Again, isn’t this taught in drivers training anymore???

We’ve heard of chicken feathers, ingredients for plastic, and false rumors of fried rat, but now we have a mouse-in-a-bun from Chick-Fil-A. This one may have traction seeing as how it is obvious the mouse was baked right into the bun…

A defensive end for the Cowboys almost lost a nipple when his nipple ring was ripped out during practice…

This is why you don’t travel to Mexico for vacation. 36% of the alcohol consumed in Mexico is illegal, we’re talking lead-solder copper still/bathtub gin-type shit. And don’t think staying at a well-appointed resort will save you, one woman ended up brain dead after consuming alcohol AT A RESORT!!!!!

All kinds of fucked up. With the internet/social media scene in high gear, people are opening restaurants I think to allow others to “be cool/hip” by posting pics of themselves and their “exotic” food choices. From restaurants that only serve cereal or PB&J, now a famous chef is opening a Cheetos-themed restaurant

Fuck you, Ashley Judd. Seems like she needed a little career boost, so she called out an airport worker on Facebook Live for calling her “sweet heart” and complimenting her dress…

This person is a real “Banksy”, I guess we can be thankful that our education system still works in some way since they spelled the words correctly…

This shit is getting too far out of hand, a semen cocktail & cookbook? Nasty…

Forget West Coast Rap, East Coast Rap, or even the Dirty South, Backwoods Rap is where it’s at…

Sunday Cinema – “The First Time”

First

All this month we are looking at “very special episodes” from 1970’s & 1980’s television shows. The tagline was meant to inform the viewer that the particular episode was going to talk about a real-life problem in the context of the show. These are some of the more familiar episodes that us Gen-Xers remember.

This episode of “The Facts of Life” found Natalie losing her virginity to Snake (played by Robert Romanus of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” fame. Originally the script called for Blair to lose her virginity, but Lisa Welchel as a devout Christian felt that promoting pre-marital sex was against her beliefs. Mindy Cohen stepped up and here we are. Tootie struggled with the same issue in a later episode but chose not to sleep with her boyfriend…

Someone posted this episode and the one with Tootie online for us to remember…

Dat’s Racist!

Dat’s Racist!

Follow us on Twitter & Facebook and see the “earth sex” video the boys reference in the episode. MattyV made reference to this scene in “Superstar” with Molly Shannon…

We’ve noticed some commercials on our local channels that are either racist or don’t make a whole lot of sense:

  • The online K-12 program commercial had a total of 3 white people out of the 10-12 shown (a white female teacher/white blond-haired teen boy/auburn-coiffed teen girl) & another showed just 2 Asians (a 14-year old & a 24-year old according to the commercial). Is it racist or trying to convey to message that all ethnicity persons qualify for online education and not just healthy-looking white kids?
  • There’s a local laser eye surgery facility that has a former state representative praising the work he had done on his eyes. The confusing part? They filmed him in and around the capitol building in Lansing & using his cellphone for “work”. If he is a FORMER state representative, why would he be at the capitol building???

As short as 4 years ago, someone posted an article on what it’s like being a westerner that visited North Korea. Apparently a lot has changed in 4 years as some of the stuff from  the article has been refuted in this Q&A someone did on a trip they took to North Korea recently and yes, it is a creepy & bleak outside the capital city…

Forget lossless compression. Forget vinyl. How about some digitized 78rpm ditties?

Watching Japanese people say racists things, who knew it would be so funny?

Gwyneth Paltrow’s company was selling vajayjay eggs

Rob Cockerham over at Cockeyed.com created a working “fidget spinner” costume that he unveiled at the SDCC this year. He’s created some pretty spectacular costumes over the years…

Dinosaur Dracula did an article a few years ago on a local “beach fair” he attended. Let’s just say it was less than stellar

The 16th of August is the anniversary of the death of Elvis Presely, the King of Rock & Roll. MattyV recalls Eddie Murphy tributes, the Aloha from Hawaii special, & the infamous phone call placed years after his death…

The Pizza Challenge Gauntlet – a new segment we are doing once a month or so when we purchase a pizza and decide who has the best slice of your standard-run-of-the-mill pizza (no fancy goat cheese or any of that shit). The criteria for the gauntlet is as follows:

  • large hand-tossed (or normal) round pizza
  • pepperoni & cheese only
  • warm, not hot or cold

We will be judging on:

  • total pepperoni count (slices that can be seen)
  • total slices provided (how it’s cut)
  • texture/gooeyness of cheese (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)
  • texture/flexibility of the crust (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)
  • mouth feel & flavor (1 is the worst, 5 is the best)
  • price per slice (rounded up)

Most cumulative points is the winner,  we will use average scores of all participants.

Little Caesar’s ExtraMostBestest (formerly known as the “Hot-n-Ready” pizza) claims to have the most pepperoni & cheese for less than similar pizzas from the bigger pizza chains. How did they stack up?

Total Pepperoni Count = 60+ slices

Total Slices Cut = 8

Price Per Slice = $1.00

Dan the Man – 12 Points

MattyV – 11 Points

Average score 10 Total Points

We shall see if this point total can hold up to the challenge gauntlet…

The tagline was meant to inform the viewer that the particular episode was going to talk about a real-life problem in the context of the show. This episode of “Punky Brewster” finds Henry having to buy a new fridge when his WWII-era fridge conks out. Buying a new fridge from none other than the actor who plays sleazeball salesman Herb Tarlek (Frank Bonner) on “WKRP in Cinncinnati”, he puts the old fridge in the back of the tenement building  without removing the door. One game of hide & seek almost ends tragically…

Someone posted this episode  online for us to remember…

Pizza! Pizza!, City Slickers, & Snowflakes

Pizza! Pizza!, City Slickers, & Snowflakes

If you’re a bit insensitive and can’t handle commentary on a very harsh label, you might not want to watch this video. We can say, however, it’s a pretty interesting commentary…

Dan the Man mentioned this video of Adam Carolla speaking on Capitol Hill about kids growing up immature in the name of “protection”.

Back in 2013, the website “Elite Daily” published an article with 10 reasons why Generation Y is soft…

PizzaPizza! was the cry back in the 1980’s from Little Caesars, both boys remember those wonderful white sleeves that encapsulated 2 pizzas on a cardboard tray.

Here’s the unedited video from the “Tana meets iDubbbz” commentary…

Here’s how to bullsh*t on your resume, but there are pitfalls in doing so

The basic premise of MattyV’s claymation project was a couple of prisoners escaped from prison, stole a jeep, plowed through a flock of chickens, & ended with a shoot-out with the police. All of the action was done to the song, “Jailbreak ’74” by AC/DC. MattyV loved working with video in art class and really showed his ability to both create and direct…

This isn’t the exact clip from “City Slickers”, but it’s still relevant to the conversation we had…

MattyV really recommends Bruce Campbell’s book, “If Chins Could Kill, Confessions of a B-Movie Actor“. Great behind-the-scenes stories of “Evil Dead”, “Brisco County, Jr.” among others…

Sunday Cinema – “Edith’s 50th Birthday”

All

All this month we are looking at “very special episodes” from 1970’s & 1980’s television shows. The tagline was meant to inform the viewer that the particular episode was going to talk about a real-life problem in the context of the show. These are some of the more familiar episodes that us Gen-Xers remember.

“All in the Family” was a pretty controversial show when it aired back in the 1970’s. One of the biggest happened in season 8 when Edith was almost raped on her 50th birthday. The subject was touched on in an earlier season when Gloria was attacked off-screen and there was just discussions about it. Here in this 2-part episode, we see the attempted rape and what it did to Edith mentally. It’s a hard set of episodes to watch.

Someone posted both episodes back-to-back for all the take a real hard look at…

Sweet Revenge

Sweet Revenge

Think “Lorena Bobbitt” meets “Jaws” and I believe you will have the image of what happened

Revenge isn’t something we actively seek out, but when the stars align

There’s “I told you so” revenge from fired employees, and then there is such blatant revenge like these examples

Reddit has several sub-Reddits about all types of revenge…

Even musicians have ways to exact revenge on those that cross them…

Cracked used to be a bi-monthly humor magazine out to rival MAD Magazine. Cracked lost the publication war & folded in 2007, but has revived itself as a sort of “BuzzFeed” or “clickbait” article hub. MattyV recently saw this article on revenge that fits the theme…

Here’s the GIF of the Creature from the Black Lagoon Dan the Man had mentioned…
